Online stock market trading
Online stock market trading has become very popular over recent years
as many people look to manage their own portfolio of investments. Two
benefits major benefits are CONTROL and COSTS.
Why is control is important? Because control allows you to take action
and get out of an investment before any real damage is done to your
portfolio. Allowing others to manage your investment or having a simple
buy and hold strategy can be disastrous under certain circumstances.
Only you have your best interests at heart, fund managers look after
number one just like anyone else. Also if you get any financial newspaper
and look at the performance of these funds you will notice a strange thing.
MOST LOSE MONEY. Others underperform the stock market. For example
the stock market averaged around a 10% gain for 2006. Most funds struggle
to get into positive figures, yet my portfolio of stocks has averaged
around 360% over 4 years which is a gain of 90% a year. See what I mean,
managing your own investments and educating yourself can bring huge
rewards. Plus I'm in control and can go to cash immediately tomorrow if I
had to, to protect my investments.
With the increase in discount brokers costs of trading are coming down in
price, which means you can afford to trade a little more often if need be.
Although an 18 month hold on a trade can produce a handsome profit if the stock is
in an established trend. Lower trading costs mean we get into pure profit quicker
and don't get eaten alive by FEES. Fund managers just love fees, they have a
setup fee, purchase fee, selling fee, monthly management fee, sitting on my
bum reading the paper fee, while the market tanks and you lose all your money
fee. I'm not saying don't use funds just look at the fees and keep them as
LOW as possible.
Learning to trade the stock market online and looking after a portion of your
own investment fund could be the best thing that ever happened to you. Learn to
manage and understand RISK. Because which is riskier 1. looking after
your own money or 2. letting someone else look after your money. It's obvious.
